Work day: 25/02/2026 (Wednesday)

Thanks to a tremendous effort by Roger and Mick the felling work has been completed and the felled timber extracted from the site and stacked. On the last work day good progress was made with the on-going construction of the dead hedge and a lot of unusable brash was burnt. Anthony also continued chainsawing the stumps to level the stumps which not only enhances regeneration but also helps to reduce trip hazards but there is still more work to be done to finish clearing the site.

As usual FoF will be providing all the necessary tools for the above tasks but please would you bring your own gloves and tools (shears and loppers) if you have them. Please would you also bring your own wipes and hand gel as well as your own refreshments. Please also remember to wear long trousers/jeans to avoid getting bitten by ticks but FoF’s First Aid kit does contain tick removers if needed.

ADVANCE NOTICE:

A TEAM OF CGi VOLUNTEERS WILL AGAIN BE HELPING FoF TO PLANT UP THE NEW COPPICED AREA WITH WHIPS KINDLY DONATED BY THE COMPANY. A PLANTING DATE HAS YET TO BE ARRANGED AND A FURTHER E-MAIL REGARDING THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE DAY WILL BE E-MAILED ONCE THE DATE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED.

Please would you let me know if you will be able to make the work day (chrispm_parker@hotmail.co.uk) - many thanks.
