Work day: 08/03/2026 (Sunday)

We will once again be meeting at 10.00 a.m. at the new coppicing area to finishing preparing the site ready for the planting of the whips with the help of the CGi Volunteers on Wednesday 11th March 2026. Great progress was made on the last work day with the construction of the dead hedge completed and the site cleared of any unusable brash which was burnt but there are some "tidying up" jobs still to be done to finish the job such Hazel layering and creating log pile habitats.

As usual FoF will be providing all the necessary tools for the above tasks but please would you bring your own gloves and tools (shears and loppers) if you have them. Please would you also bring your own wipes and hand gel as well as your own refreshments. Please also remember to wear long trousers/jeans to avoid getting bitten by ticks but FoF’s First Aid kit does contain tick removers if needed.

Please would you let Roger know if you will be able to make the work day (rjcrabb@talktalk.net).

Time

10am

Location

Entering the Wood via the Woodland Way entrance, the site is located on the left hand side of the top path where the path meets Sherwood Glade/the start of Sherwood Oaks Field.
