Work day: Wednesday 27th September

The first tasks will be to brushcut or scythe the Charcoal Glade and stack Roger’s poles located in the Hazel Plantation on bearers and cover them with a tarpaulin to prevent rotting. We will then move along the top path to brushcut and rake Sherwood Glade and cut back the vegetation in the Juniper compounds located there. There are also approx. five fence posts located along the top path near the Cherry Grove which have broken and need supporting with stakes pending replacement. Depending on how long this takes we may also be able to collect Juniper berries as well as brushcut or scythe the scallop path leading down from Sherwood Glade to the bottom path.

As usual FoF will be providing all the necessary tools for the above tasks but please would you bring your own gloves and tools (shears and loppers) if you have them. Please would you also bring your own wipes and hand gel as well as your own refreshments. Please also remember to wear long trousers/jeans to avoid getting bitten by ticks but FoF’s First Aid kit does contain tick removers if
